| am tired...
trying to pull you out of your situations. protecting you, saving you from losing face.
you tried... but you never last... finding yourself on the same cell you've managed to escape 5 minutes ago.
i've sacrificed enough of myself, never asked for anything in return... but what is my help if you keep jumping back in to the pool of quicksand?
it's wrong to ignore you screaming but when will you pull yourself out?
it just gets tiring. ...but ill be here

| day after fourth of july...skipped worked today... that's the cool thing about my job, i get to work from home whenever i want. Downside is, I DONT GET ANYTHING DONE... :D Too much distraction here and there. TV, computer, video games, etc... even XANGA or other blog sites. I should be working now, but ill do that in a while. My work is long overdue, so i have to make sure i get things done by tomorrow. but for now.... *************************************************** 4th of July, The celebration of America's Independence. There are fireworks, re-enactments, and (my favourite of all events) Hotdog eating contests. Okay, so it's not really my highlight for an important date that made America "the land of the free". It's more from the publicitiy of Takeru Kobayashi.
Eating around 54 hotdogs in 12 minutes as rather more of a freak show than anything else, and i can't help but to watch as he tries to break his old World Record of 53.5 hotdogs. That's an average of 4.5 hotdogs and buns in a minute.
So in order to honor Kobayashi, I tried to see how i par up with him by taking on the hotdogs myself. ***************************************************** 3 hotdogs and buns.... I estimate that i would finish that in 45 seconds, but after staring into the dogs... i was already intimidated.
and so, i asked to be timed.... 3..2..1...GO!!!
I tried different styles as i have observed them do at the contests. One such styles, from Kobayashi himself, requires you to arc your head back to get the food down your throat unobstructed... and i try that a few times. Other times, i eat the the dogs separately from the buns, and dip the buns in my Brisk Ice Tea to dampen it, making it easier to swallow.
And down to the last dog, I raced against my sister's boyfriend. But after having to eat two extra hotdogs before hand, i've been badly out-swallowed.
And on to the official time of my last swallowed dog and bun.... 7 minutes and 12 seconds... **************************************************** For 3 hotdogs and buns?!?!?!??! at that point, they were over 35. No wonder they turned this into a sport, where the fittest shall reign and the average, can't even compare.

| I don't watch much tv, so it was pretty unusual for me to get caught by reality tv. and of all the reality tv out there, it has to be one that i thought i would never watch.
So i should've been working yesterday, but it was hard to keep your mindset to work when you have to work from home. You just don't get anything done. I was working and then my computer hanged... aargghhh.... I restarted, and while waiting for it to reboot, I went to the living room and turned the tv on.
Thought to myself, i'll only be here for a minute then head on straight for work. and then i hit VH1, and it was on: "America's Next Top Model" Marathon
Normally, i would've just skipped through it, but i recognized the episode: it was previewed in some tv news because it was the one where tyra bank goes on a furious outburst against a contestant. So i stuck for the episode, and i thought she had every right to get angry.
And by then, i should've turned the channel or immediately went back to work, but the preview for the next episode was shown. It featured one contestant, "Kahlen".
I never noticed her from the last episode, but on the previews for the next, she just had a high-school friend died, and i was intrigued and interested....
"oh shoot!, will she go through and face the challenge", i asked myself as the next episode aired.
For every reminder of death that went through Kahlen's mind, she immediately wept.I stuck for the episode, and it gets even more interesting: the challenge was to have a photoshoot inside an 8 foot grave dig while laying in a coffin.
and once again, she got me intriguiged and even rooting for her, trying to give her comfort, as if she could hear me and as if this wasn't filmed a year ago.
But she didn't want to lose, and so she had all her strength to get down the grave for the shoot, and she had one of the most stunning pictures.
By then I was in love with kahlen, and was rooting for her the whole way... and since it was a marathon, I was glued to the tv for four hours, instead of working on my project.
